Like your coffee a little less acidic?

Updated: Jul 6, 2018

Coffee is great in so many ways.

The sound of the beans.

The aroma of a good roast.

The drips of a rich brew.

The warmth of a weighted cup.

The breathe of delight.

The joy of the palate.

Exhale with satisfaction.

If you are holding back on coffee for a more alkaline diet,

here are some options to enjoy coffee with better PH:

1. Add baking soda to coffee

This changes the PH balance in the most cost efficient way.

2. Add fresh milk to coffee

Fresh milk has calcium which is a great alkalizing mineral.

3. Add cardamom to coffee

This spice not only helps to neutralize acid, it also offers many health benefits.

4. Cold-brew coffee

Do not confuse this with iced coffee, whereby ice is added to hot-brew coffee.

At high temperature, acidic compounds are released.

We overcome this with a cold-brew, trading time for heat.

A cold-brew will take typically take 12-24 hours, depending on the recipe.

This reduces the acidity and reveals a more luscious original taste.

Although not offered in many coffee joints, cold-brew is available at selected Starbucks outlets.
